Photo Shoots
Before we start..
*Do you have a particular style in mind?
Think about this as you are selecting your wardrobe and prop options.
*Be sure to check with your photographer about the number of allowed wardrobe and/or prop changes by the time of the photo shoot.
*The background simple, or detailed? The list goes on and on, but it’s important that it’s a style that fits you and your personality, otherwise you risk the high possibility of appearing uncomfortable which can cause the final images to look awkward or forced.
*Do you want color or B/W, or a mix of tones? In this technological age most likely the photographer you choose will be shooting digital, so tonal changes happen in the post-processing stage. Some photographers offer a variety of tonal images as part of your package, others may not. It’s important to know what you want and to communicate this to your photographer prior to the shoot because this can affect how the photographer sets the lighting.
*Meet with your photographer in person prior to the shoot. This will give you the opportunity to discuss your expectations, goals, possible locations, and any other shoot details necessary, as well as show the photographer some examples of images you like and why. Additionally, it is an opportunity for you to develop a communication with your photographer which will help tremendously the day of the shoot since you will already have a certain comfort level established.
